Trevor Loke || Vancouver Headshot Photographer

A few short weeks after Trevor Loke and I created these portraits he accepted a new job in the United Kingdom. Trevor will be taking on the position of Head of Fundraising at the University of Portsmouth.
I'm happy for his new career and life adventure, but sad about not working together in the future.
Trevor wanted a rustic urban feel to his headshots so we headed to Vancouver’s historic Gastown area.

Vancouver TD Bank Staff Portraits

I was recently invited to photograph some of the staff at TD Canada’s Vancouver office.
Who knew bankers could be so fun?

Donald Cooper || Granville Island Headshot Session

Last summer I donated a headshot session to the McLaren Housing Society Annual Sparkle Party fundraiser. I donate portrait sessions to a few non-profits throughout the year and Physician Donald Cooper won a session with me.
We headed to Granville Island this past fall. I love photographing on the Island because of the colours and textures.
Donald was so happy with the portraits he actually had me make prints for Christmas presents. His family was overjoyed to have these new handsome portraits of him.

Ian Burroughs || Vancouver Headshot Photographer

Sometimes I photograph big kids, like Vancouver lawyer Ian Burroughs, who needed portraits for an issue of Smart Risk magazine.

Lazy Gourmet || Vancouver Headshot Photographer

Lazy Gourmet is celebrating 40 years in business and needed a few staff headshots updated for their new website. I shoot a lot of events and often see these folks taking care of the the delicious catering. I was hoping for leftovers during this shoot on location at their business, but alas, I only managed to ‘borrow’ a bottle of water.

Clear Counselling || Vancouver Headshot Photographer

This time of year I photograph a lot of 'Big Kids'.
I use this lighting quite frequently for clients that want something vibrant and welcoming.
New headshots for the team of practioners at Clear Counselling.

Author Monica Meneghetti || Vancouver Headshot Photographer

Author Monica Meneghetti contacted me to create portraits to accompany an article in the Edmonton Journal featuring her novel 'What the Mouth Wants'.
The good folks at Arriva Ristorante on Commercial Drive allowed us to play around in their space and provided yummy gnocchi as a prop which Monica kept eating!!
Monica was recently nominated for a prestigious Lambda Literary Awards in the category of Bisexual Nonfiction.
I'm reading her novel right now and it is utterly delicious.

Brandon Yan || Vancouver Headshot Photographer

You can't tell, but it's actually -RidiculouslyCold and there's a Chinese New Year parade happening a few feet away.
Brandon Yan is running for Vancouver City Council as a One City Vancouver candidate and he needed new portraits for his candidacy website.
The Chinatown area means a great deal to Brandon and he wanted to incorporate the neighbourhood in his portraits.
Of course they were time sensitive and we had to do the shoot on one of the coldest days of the year and on Chinese New Year Parade Day! When  a contingent from the parade passed us by we had some fun running to catch it to get the cute photo below of Brandon (minus a coat).
Brandon Yan and I have worked together previously many times with the Out in Schools program where he is the Education Director.

No one knows there's a large Chinese Dragon dancing around to the left of this photo.
