Sophia Wealth Academy 2025

I recently had the pleasure of photographing the 11th annual Sophia Wealth Academy event, held at the University Golf Club in Vancouver, BC.
This one-day gathering brought together a vibrant community of women eager to deepen their financial knowledge and personal empowerment. The positive energy in the room was palpable—from the “Dance Snacks” to the interactive workshops and thought-provoking panels. Attendees were fully engaged, smiling, and clearly enjoying the dynamic blend of education and inspiration.
The event's theme, "Women, Money & Empowerment," was brought to life through sessions led by experts like Tracy Theemes and Dr. Tamara Myers, offering insights into investing, inner strength, and purposeful wealth.
What made this event truly special was its commitment to community and giving back—all proceeds supported Dress for Success Vancouver, amplifying the impact beyond the day's learning .
Capturing the joy, connection, and empowerment of the participants was fun. And even though I was behind the camera, I still walked away with some valuable financial wisdom that I can apply in my own business and life.

Kids on Wheels || BC Cycling Coalition

I got to spend a few days with this awesome team of Instructors from the BC Cycling Coalition 'Kids on Wheels' bicycle camp. The camp teaches children bicycle safety using push bikes. It was a super cute experience capturing their joy and excitement at learning how to bicycle.

Troublemakers 4.0 || Vancouver Queer Film Festival

Troublemakers 4.0 is an inter-generational film project sponsored by the Vancouver Queer Film Festival, Reel Youth, and Love Intersections.
Aspiring young filmmakers are paired with LGBTQ2+ ‘Troublemakers’ who are change-makers in the Vancouver LGBTQ2+ community.
Inter-generational relationships are important and this project offers the participants the opportunity to learn from each other as they create impactful documentaries together.
This is my 3rd year capturing the behind the scenes action and portraits of the participants.
It is wonderful to witness their relationships and the films they create together are beautiful.
The films will be shown at the 31st Vancouver Queer Film Festival on August 18th, 2019.

I love capturing the friendships that develop during this wonderful project.

Vancouver's East Side Pride

I knew it was going to be a joyous and colourful day at Vancouver Pride's East Side Pride event. This was my first time attending the event and I spent most of my time flirting and reuniting with folks I hadn't seen in awhile. Here's a few shots I did get in between the festivities.

STRUT 4 Hope

"We stand strong together in support of every person’s right to love who we are meant to, be who they want to be without fear of prejudice. Join us and walk a mile in high-heels to fight for LGBTQ+ people around the world."
~ Foundation of Hope.
100's of folks strutted their stuff at Sunset Beach June 6th to raise funds and awareness for LGBTQ refugees. The newly founded Foundation of Hope’s first fundraiser was a walkathon with participants walking a mile in high heels! An amazing $45,000+ was raised at the fabulously successful event.
Every day I wake up grateful for the privilege to be my authentic self in this beautiful city and country. It was wonderful to be a part of raising funds and awareness for folks who do not live with those same privileges.
Thank you to the Foundation of Hope for existing and assisting LGBTQ refugees, asylum seekers and newcomers.

We are stronger together

I joined LOUD Business (Gay & Lesbian Business Association of BC) on April Fools day 2014. However, I am no fool.
Becoming a LOUD member was one of the best decisions I made for myself and my business last year.
Being in LOUD has enriched my feeling of belonging to a community that cares and supports each other.
I have made strong connections and some dear friendships within LOUD and I look forward to those connections and relationships deepening.

Below are some fun shots I took at the LOUD Luncheon in February with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence and the Foundation of Hope in attendance.
