Vancouver Family Portraits, Jericho Beach park

One of my greatest joys is to document how my families grow.
It's that time of year again—Annual Family Portrait time—and WOW, have they grown since last year’s session HERE!
We met at their favourite local park, a spot that’s become a cherished backdrop for these moments. This year, they decided to ride their bicycles to the session because the oldest was excited to proudly show me her new bike. It was touching to see how much she wanted to share this moment with me.
From their wedding day to now, it's been so much fun to document their journey.
These sessions are more than just photographs; they’re a tradition that marks the passage of time, the growth of a family, and the little moments that make life beautiful. Every session is a reminder of why I love what I do—capturing the unique joy and love of each family I work with.

Revelstoke Greenbelt Portrait Session

I visit home every spring and gift my niece a portrait session for her birthday. She chooses the location and this year she chose the Revelstoke Greenbelt. You can’t tell from these portraits but we were dodging a Mosquito Onslaught!
I visit my hometown 3-4 times a year. Please contact me if you’d like a mosquito-free family session.

Author Rhea Tregebov | Vancouver Headshots

I photographed Author Rhea Tregebov in her ‘back yard’, which was a large, lush oasis in the City of Vancouver.
Rhea, celebrated for her poetry, novels and enchanting children's literature, has penned five picture books, including the popular "Sasha" series featuring her son. With translations of her works into French and Danish, she captivates young audiences worldwide.
Based in Vancouver, she shares her creative flair as a Writing instructor at the University of British Columbia.
As a fellow lover of storytelling through imagery, I had the joy of working with Rhea to create these beautiful portraits together for her new book.

Loved working with Belle and am delighted with the results. She was able to squeeze me in before the holidays and every bit of the process was positive. Great communications in advance, advice on what to wear, where to shoot. And when she got here, I was immediately at ease. I soon realized that her own wide smile made it natural for me to smile. Great process, great results.

Vancouver Family Portraits, Second Beach

My realtor clients Erik Carlson and Andrew Truong gifted this adorable family a session with me as a housewarming gift.
How wonderful that they will have printed memories to put up on the walls of their new home.

Vancouver Family Portraits, Stanley Park

This family is awesome and showed up all in plaid! They love spending time together, and it's evident that Brother and Sister are the ultimate dynamic duo. I've been their photographer since big brother was just a few months old.
This Fall, we met at Stanley Park for another family portrait session, and have the kids grown!
It was all giggles and goofiness capturing those real family moments. Brother and Sister are actually Besties, but it was fun getting them to wrestle it out a bit for some cute sibling rivalry portraits.
Their sessions are always so enjoyable, full of cute kid moments and the kind of family love that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Remembrance Day Thoughts

Today I’m thinking of my great uncle Donald (Don) McCrae who was a R.C.A.F. pilot in WW2.
He was an avid photographer and took the photo below of my Grandpa Alex McCrae at the summit of Mount Revelstoke at Heather Lodge.
Don built the lodge in 1937/38 and managed it until he enlisted in 1941.
He was a champion skier/alpinist and once ski toured from Revelstoke to Banff!
Sadly, I never had the joy of knowing him as he was listed as missing in action May 28th, 1944.
He was 28 years old.
I do have Don’s camera, a 1920 Kodak autographic camera, gifted to me by his nieces, and quite possibly the same camera that took this beautiful photo of my Grandpa.

East Vancouver Family Portraits | Trout Lake Park

This has become a cherished tradition the past four years. Every fall around the same time, we meet at Trout Lake Park to create a new birthday portrait for the wall in their home.
You can see their relationship deepen and the happiness radiating from these moments is heartwarming to capture. The sessions are filled with laughter and sweet moments, turning their walls into a gallery of beautiful memories.

Mustafa Akhtar | Vancouver Headshots

I recently photographed Vancouver Realtor Mustafa Akhtar in Vancouver’s West End neighbourhood.
Mustafa serves clients in the West End and wanted to utilize some of the older buildings for his new branding images.
Collaborating and getting to know him was a pleasure. As we walked through the neighborhood, he shared stories about the history of some of the older buildings and why he loved them.

I worked with Belle to get Headshots done… it was not only fun to do the shoot with her, but the results are fantastic.
