Jericho Beach | Vancouver Family Portraits

This family always brings a mix of adorableness and a little chaos to their family sessions—and that’s exactly why I love working with them!
For this year’s photos at Jericho Beach, they came dressed in matching red and grey outfits, with their lovable pup happily tagging along.
Their ability to let loose and have fun always results in the most authentic and heartwarming photos.

Stephen Irving | Vancouver Headshots

Stephen Irving and I crossed paths at Canada's 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) Symposium in September, where our deep conversation sparked this creative collaboration.
I loved capturing these urban headshots with Stephen while strolling through our mutual neighbourhood—it was such a fun session!
In return, Stephen shared his marketing expertise to help me refine my website and better connect with clients who truly align with my work.

Janice Duddy Consulting || Vancouver Headshots

My FAV portrait from an absolutely delightful session with Janice Duddy creating images for her consulting business WEBSITE.

Belle was a super person to work with and a very talented photographer. My partner and I needed to update our professional headshots (to reflect our more mature selves :)) and she made the experience pleasant and even fun. She was responsive and we got our images in a very timely manner. We would highly recommend Belle! Thank you Belle the photos look great!

Dr. Elisabeth Baerg Hall || Vancouver Headshots

Working with Dr. Elisabeth Baerg Hall again was a delightful experience.
As an expert in adult ADHD, an educator, and sought-after speaker, Elisabeth brings warmth and energy to everything she does. Her thoughtful outfit choices and collaborative spirit made capturing her vibrant personality a joy. She shows how a great headshot can be both approachable and professional.
I’m thrilled with the images we created together to support her work at The ADHD Centre for Education & Training and as a Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia.

Jericho Beach | Vancouver Family Portraits

One of my greatest joys is to document how my families grow.
It's that time of year again—Annual Family Portrait time—and WOW, have they grown since last year’s session HERE!
We met at their favourite local park, a spot that’s become a cherished backdrop for these moments. This year, they decided to ride their bicycles to the session because the oldest was excited to proudly show me her new bike. It was touching to see how much she wanted to share this moment with me.
From their wedding day to now, it's been so much fun to document their journey.
These sessions are more than just photographs; they’re a tradition that marks the passage of time, the growth of a family, and the little moments that make life beautiful. Every session is a reminder of why I love what I do—capturing the unique joy and love of each family I work with.

Author Rhea Tregebov || Vancouver Headshots

I photographed Author Rhea Tregebov in her ‘back yard’, which was a large, lush oasis in the City of Vancouver.
Rhea, celebrated for her poetry, novels and enchanting children's literature, has penned five picture books, including the popular "Sasha" series featuring her son. With translations of her works into French and Danish, she captivates young audiences worldwide.
Based in Vancouver, she shares her creative flair as a Writing instructor at the University of British Columbia.
As a fellow lover of storytelling through imagery, I had the joy of working with Rhea to create these beautiful portraits together for her new book.

Loved working with Belle and am delighted with the results. She was able to squeeze me in before the holidays and every bit of the process was positive. Great communications in advance, advice on what to wear, where to shoot. And when she got here, I was immediately at ease. I soon realized that her own wide smile made it natural for me to smile. Great process, great results.

What to wear for your Family Session

Here are some of my beautiful families to offer visual tips for choosing the perfect outfits for your family session.

Choose a base colour

Decide on a base colour and have everyone wearing different shades and tones of it.
This will add dimension to your portraits and express everyone’s personality.
Avoid wearing too many patterns as this will make your portrait busy. Have everyone in mostly neutral and solid colours.
Avoid green if your session is in nature. Avoid everyone wearing all white as our eyes are attracted to the highest contrast in an image and the focus will be off your wonderful faces.

Have fun with the footwear

You can coordinate everyone wearing sandals or Van’s in the summer and gumboots in the Fall. Shoes should be as clean as possible.

Don’t put Baby in the corner

Dress your children in a lighter or darker tone than you so they stand out against the clothing you’re wearing.

It’s all about the Fun!

Remember, it’s all about having fun with your family and enjoying your session.
Wear clothing you feel comfortable in and focus on enjoying the playful moments with your family.
