I've been photographing this family since their eldest was 3 months old and her parents wanted similar portraits of their little guy on his 3 month birthday.
Big sister greeted me at the front door with a smile and a warm hug that totally melted my heart.
She has a wicked iTunes dance mix that we listened and danced to while creating these portraits together.
The beautiful soft north facing window light was perfect for these intimate family portraits in my clients new home.

Fur Baby || Vancouver Family Photographer

Anyone who has a fur baby knows they are part of the family. So of course Shirley the Dog had to be included in the maternity session portraits. This family choose to purchase a gallery wall and the last portrait with her best furry faced friend hangs on the wall above her bed.
Pro Tip: hide doggie treats in clothing to get their full attention.

Lukas celebrated his 1st birthday dressed in style with his Papa's. 
I'm so in love with his red hair and his adorable cheeks.

I'm a big kid and a bit of a goofball so it's usually fairly easy to get at least a few smiles from the wee ones I photograph. But this child, this child made my job so effortless.

Lukas was born in December and was 4 months old for his debut photo session.
His parents were 37 and 47 and his grandparents were 59 and 75.
This guy is usually all smiles, except for this day. I had to make some ridiculous noises and facial expressions to elicit that smile. It was worth it.

I usually let the kids direct the family session. We stop occasionally for posed portraits, but for the most part, I let them run the show. It's playful that way, and they always show me magical places I haven't seen through my adult eyes.
My regular assistant was unavailable the day of his family session and Mr. Cutie here did an excellent job filling in as my mini photo assistant.
