East Vancouver Family Portraits | Trout Lake Park

Last time I photographed these two the youngest was tiny and new.
We met up at Trout Lake in East Vancouver to take advantage of the blooming buttercup flowers.
Their parents decided they loved the scuffed knee on their eldest so we didn’t do any Photoshop magic there and kept it real.
During their fun session the eldest gave me a nickname which I think is going to stick.
Henceforth, I will be known as Bee-Belle. At least to these two.

Port Moody Family Portraits | Rocky Point Park

This family had just moved into their new home, and as a thoughtful gesture, their realtor gifted them a family session with me.
We decided to visit their new favourite park for the session. When meeting a new family, I like to involve the children in the creative process to make them feel included. The kids excitedly pointed out a bridge they wanted me to see, and while exploring, we stumbled upon a picturesque country-style fence that became the perfect backdrop for their portraits.

Burnaby Family Portraits | Deer Lake Park

As you can imagine, the youngest is a jokester of the family, and there’s some behind-the-scenes tickling going on.
I love how they chose this portrait to have printed as their family wall portrait.

East Vancouver Family Portraits | Trout Lake

Mama and MaPa (isn’t that an adorable name) totally won in the clothes styling department this day.
Baby A. looked adorable with her ponytail hair style and yellow pantaloons for her fall family portraits at Trout Lake.
Jumping in puddles before heading home was the reward for being patient and posing for her 1st birthday portraits.
Her family chose a sweet 8x8” Storybook album of their favourite portraits from their session.

North Vancouver Family Portraits | Lonsdale Quay

Mom won a Silent Auction portrait session I had donated to Camp Fircom in 2019 and we’ve been trying to get together ever since to do their portraits. Finally, during a Pandemic we made it happen. :)
They chose a fine art printed wall portrait of their family and one of each of the girls.

Watch Me Grow || Vancouver Family Photographer

A child’s first year is filled with wonderful milestones like their first sweet smile, sitting up by themselves and their first joyful steps.
I offer my clients the opportunity to treasure those moments forever with my ‘Watch Me Grow’ sessions.
Parents can choose up to 3 sessions in their child’s first year and I design a beautiful hand-bound 10x10” portrait album to celebrate the year.
This couple wanted to include a maternity session with an urban feel, so we chose the rustic location of Granville Island. They showed up wearing matching leather jackets and I knew then we had to finish the year at the same location with the family wearing matching leather jackets. Happily, they agreed!

Stanley Park Family Portraits | Lost Lagoon

We spent a cold November morning together in Vancouver’s Stanley Park. They came prepared with long johns under their pants.
I wish I’d thought of that!
During the consultation appointment in their home I noticed a wall portrait in their stairwell. It was a portrait of them cuddled up together on the beach with their son who was a toddler at the time.
Meeting with my clients beforehand helps create a connection and also helps me to know what they truly want and need.
They expressed to me that they’d like a similar portrait of their family for their son’s upcoming 6th birthday.
They chose the cute portrait below of them crouched together in the frosty field. The 20” print hangs in their stairwell one flight up from the portrait they had done previously. What a wonderful way to show how your family is changing and growing!!

Rascal's Family || Vancouver Family Photographer

These two have been together for 16 years and this is their fur baby Rascal.
Rascal didn’t live up to his name. He was the perfect gentleman, posing politely in his stylish Fall sweater.
We had originally planned on meeting at a park in Vancouver’s West End. The courtyard at their apartment building was lovely and had a beautiful pond so we decided to stay close to home.
Rascal’s family chose a Storbybook album and we went with the natural linen cover to match their sweaters.
It’s a sweet keepsake album and I enjoyed creating it for them.
